Designing the annual

From the archive: The D&AD is a prestigious global awards organisation that awards excellence across the whole of creative industry. The D&AD Annual is the must have compendium of the winning creative work.

In 2008 whilst I was working for Research Studios, the president of the D&AD Simon Waterfall invited Neville Brody to be creative Director of the annual. The brief was to create a book inspired by the future of digital design. 

 

I worked with Neville Brody to create his vision for the book. Our goal was to pare down the content and make it dynamic, less cluttered and easy to navigate. 

2008 was the first time the Annual content was also available online, our aim was to promote the new web presence (and future) in the Annual. 

The task included directing print and packaging developments, design development, creating templates, directing art workers and creating a set of invites to promote the launch.

Invites

Guests were asked to RSVP via the large web links. The three different invites were for the private view, media view and the Presidents dinner.
